About Us

Iron King Construction is a family-owned construction company proudly serving East Texas from our home base in Tyler, Texas. Since 2008, we've been committed to building homes and steel structures with exceptional craftsmanship, honest communication, and long-term value.

Our story began when Tyler native Daniel Arellano started East Texas Construction as a side business while working full-time in commercial construction. What began as weekend projects quickly grew through hard work, referrals, and a reputation for quality craftsmanship. By 2012, Daniel made the decision to pursue construction full-time, focusing on remodeling, custom homes, red-iron steel buildings, and barndominiums.

In 2018, Daniel's wife, Liz Arellano, joined the company full-time, bringing years of experience from her family's remodeling business along with a passion for design and client relationships. Together, they combined construction expertise with thoughtful design, creating a personalized building experience where homeowners work directly with the owners from the first consultation through the final walkthrough.

One of the most important chapters in our story began in 2019 when Liz designed the family's own monitor-style barndominium. Completed in 2020, building and living in that home gave us something many builders can't offer—firsthand experience.

We didn't just build a Hybrid Barndominium.

We chose to raise our family in one.

Living in our own home has shaped the way we build today. It has deepened our understanding of structural design, moisture management, energy efficiency, floor plan functionality, and the countless details that transform a steel structure into a comfortable, long-lasting home.

That experience ultimately led us to develop and refine the Iron King Hybrid Barndominium—our unique building system that combines the strength of red-iron steel construction with residential framing techniques designed for comfort, durability, and long-term performance.

As our company continued to grow, so did our vision.

In September 2025, we proudly rebranded from ETC Barndominiums & Steel Buildings to Iron King Construction. While the name changed, our ownership, leadership, and commitment to quality craftsmanship remained exactly the same.

The new name better reflects who we are today and the broad range of projects we build, including Hybrid Barndominiums, custom homes, red-iron steel buildings, commercial projects, and specialty construction throughout East Texas.

Today, we intentionally build a limited number of projects each year so every client receives the personal attention they deserve. When you choose Iron King Construction, you'll work directly with Daniel and Liz—not a salesperson or project manager. We believe that building a home should be a collaborative experience built on trust, communication, and education.

Our goal has never been to build the most homes.

Our goal is to build every home as if it were our own.
