One of the biggest mistakes we see homeowners make is purchasing architectural plans before knowing whether the home fits their budget. It's much easier—and far less expensive—to make adjustments before investing in completed plans.

To get started, all we need is a basic layout showing your overall dimensions, estimated square footage, and the general arrangement of your living space, porches, garage, or carport. Even a simple sketch is enough for us to prepare a preliminary estimate. If you already have completed plans, we're happy to provide a more detailed estimate based on those drawings.

If you're working within a specific budget or loan amount, we can also help you choose one of our in-house floor plans that better aligns with your financial goals before you invest in custom plans.

Within approximately four weeks of receiving your layout, we'll prepare your preliminary estimate and schedule a consultation to review everything together. You can visit our Hybrid Barndominium office to explore finishes, discuss ideas, and ask questions in person, or we can meet virtually if you're building from out of town.

Our goal is to help you move forward with confidence before construction ever begins.

📍 Visiting Your Future Homesite

Once you've reviewed your preliminary estimate and are ready to move forward, it's time for us to visit your property.

During this visit, we evaluate the homesite, review access, drainage, elevation changes, utilities, driveway requirements, and other factors that can influence construction costs. When needed, our land specialist joins us to help evaluate the site and determine the scope of site preparation.

This step allows us to develop realistic site preparation costs that will be incorporated into your final estimate, helping reduce unexpected expenses later in the process.

With a complete understanding of your project and budget, you can confidently move forward with purchasing official architectural plans or having your custom home professionally designed.

🔨 Bringing Your Home to Life

Once your plans and specifications are finalized, we'll prepare a comprehensive fixed-price construction agreement outlining exactly what is included in your project.

If you're financing your home, we'll work directly with your lender throughout the interim construction loan process to help make everything as smooth as possible.

Then the excitement begins.

Daniel immediately begins coordinating material orders and preparing for construction. Unlike many builders, there is no middleman between you and the person building your home. Throughout construction, you'll continue working directly with Daniel while Liz personally guides you through your finish selections, helping you choose options that fit your style, needs, and budget.

Whether you select from our carefully curated finishes or prefer a design allowance for more flexibility, we'll be there to guide you every step of the way.

Communication is one of the cornerstones of our building process. You'll receive regular progress updates throughout construction, and many of our out-of-town clients enjoy weekly Friday video updates so they can watch their home come together from wherever they are.

Our typical turnkey construction timeline is approximately 6–8 months, depending on weather and project complexity.

Before move-in, we'll complete a detailed walkthrough together to ensure every aspect of your home meets our standards and to answer any questions you have before you receive the keys.
